Welcome to year 15 of Casa Lala’s Summers of aventura, alegría, amistad!

Gracias to all our wonderful amigos that made the 2025 Summer so unbelievably JOYFUL! Summer 2026 registrations open TODAY, January 11th, 2026 at 11am!

The three pillars that shape a Summer at Casa Lala:

1)   AVENTURA (adventure).
Casa Lala’s philosophy lets the child nurture their natural sense of discovery, independence, awe, and problem-solving. In other words, we give children the space to be children. We sing loudly, we climb trees, we run, we get our hands dirty and our feet wet. Every day of summer camp is an Aventura. This is guided by a strong Montessori background in our team.

2)   ALEGRÍA (joy).
Whatever the program, we infuse it with our team’s characteristic joy, music, FUN. Something that can be perceived as spontaneous is in fact a carefully crafted aspect of our camps, and is something on which our team receives regular training.

3)  AMISTAD (friendship).
Casa Lala is above all a community of friends. We value and lay out an environment that fosters lasting friendships. We learn to lend a helping hand, and to receive one in return. We love to see new friendships bloom every summer, and we love to see those that are strengthened summer after summer.

CAMP GROUPS

AJOLOTES

Our Ajolotes friends have a wonderful program of splash days in the garden, themed days, cooking lessons, arts & crafts, music and dance parties, outdoors science workshops, and nature discovery. They don’t go on field trips, but have mini-adventures to visit playgrounds next to Casa Lala.

Ajolotes have optional nap time.

TUCANES

Tucanes use our signature program “DC as our Classroom” to discover all the wonderful things our city has to offer. 4 days per week they set off in our beloved Juanchas (Casa Lala’s colorful, music filled vans) and explore parks, monuments, orchards, museums, libraries, ‘discovering our neighborhood’ walks… as well as 1 day per week at Casa Lala, with activities centered around community creation (cooking together, music & dance, arts & crafts, science workshops…) and always as much outdoors exploring as well can.

CABRAS: ¡CASA LALA EN ZAPATILLAS!

Our Cabras program opened last year, tailored to the curiosities and needs for this wonderful age group. Independence and curiosity for how our city and, more generally, the world works is at the core of the curriculum. Last year, we had themed weeks in which we explored topics in depth (how food reaches our table, how embassies work, history in our city, jobs that ensure our health and safety, etc.).

One of the absolute highlights of the summer was our Uncommon Sports week. From attending live games to trying out activities like bowling and climbing, the children discovered new passions, challenged themselves, and had an unforgettable amount of fun.

Inspired by the excitement of that week, by the enthusiastic requests of last summer’s Cabras, and by our strong commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles, we’re thrilled to share what’s coming this 2026 summer. The 2026 Cabras Program will be entirely dedicated to the world of sports—both familiar favorites and surprising discoveries.

We call it ¡CASA LALA EN ZAPATILLAS!
A very Casa Lala way of exploring, moving, and experiencing the vibrant world of sports, and discovering how it lives and breathes right here in our city. Expect energy, teamwork, curiosity, and lots of joyful movement—on and off the field.
